Verbs used in the first 30 pages of Stephen King's book "On Writing":
- to truck
- to maul
- to claw
- to howl.
I love the feel of these words. They're like smears of good mustard or the chewy part of just-baked bread or the sound of knuckles cracking.
Also, he says, about writing about one's life: "There are no lines--only snapshots, mostly out of focus."
