I've read Aristotle and I know about oligarchies and monarchies and plutocracies and, you know, I've always thought of democracy as a great idea. But the following fact haunts me: My vote counts exactly the same as the guy who works at the liquor store on the corner, the guy who, as he talks to you about the Ravens or the Cowboys, combs his goatee with a little comb he keeps in his breast pocket.
