Snow the other day, fast and wet, and now it's cold, very cold, so cold you have to turn on the baseboards in the living room, in the bathroom, and also the space heater that's supposed to burn two tubes but has been dropped and so now goes only on one. But it'll be up to 60 this weekend, and so I anticipate a friendly back yard somewhere, gray grass underfoot, piegons on wires overhead, crows barking because there's stuff moving around again.
Buds on the little sidewalk trees will be out soon, I suspect. It's true, what they say about getting a little older. It does speed up, once you've been around the block a few times. Those ginko buds were just out, it seems like, just a little while ago.
And, speaking of sidewalks, the Baltimore Sun has a little thing I wrote. I'm beginning to like cities more and more, I've realized, and that reaization would have been a pretty big shock to me, circa 18 years old.
